Location-based discounts
A marketplace app where locals get promo codes from the neighboring cafes, beauty salons and other businesses
Project review:
Brief
This international startup offers promo codes based on users’ most frequent locations. Service providers, like cafes and beauty studios opt in to promote themselves to locals and develop their loyal customer base. Users get deals close to their usual places of stay, commonly home and office. Starting from MVP the marketplace grew to a 50 000 unique users per month before it was acquired by a large advertising company. The app has 3 different interfaces: user, business and startup admin. Google Maps and payment provider are securely integrated into UI.

Effective online trade marketing is demanding for sensitive personal data is used on the final stage of customer journey
Challenge:
From the marketing perspective, coupons and promo-codes are the tools of trade marketing. Trade marketing is the final stage before the sales is made. It goes after brand marketing or PR and product marketing. Discounts are most efficient when the customer need crystallized and the final decision is about to being made. It is important to keep the customer interested with clever algorithms based on location, behavior, preferences, day of the month. Collected data must be used carefully with respect to user and GDPR.
Insights for businesses and notifications for users all in platform-agnostic secure marketplace
Solution:
We developed a thought-through marketplace application for iOS and Android. Seller’s UI provided impersonal information to local businesses with insights about the traffic volume and customer profiles to stimulate offers. Users get announcements based on updates and logistics. Feedback from other users are taken into account as well. Startup administration gets information on the dashboard to balance supply and demand. The app complies with all privacy regulations. On the preliminary phase we conducted several deep sessions on technology and marketing with the startup team
